Vol. 26: THE ROMAN EMPIRE
What’s an adjunct, and what does it have to do with Robert De Niro?
I got an email this week asking me “what is an adjunct?”. To those of us who have been around beer for awhile, this is a pretty easy question to answer, but it DID get me thinking about terminology, and explanations of brewery ops, and existentialism, and Robert De Niro.
PLEASE FEEL FREE any time to email us with questions. We love beer and we love talking about beer and our families are sick of talking about beer. We love hearing your thoughts and ideas and dreams and are happy to explain processes and terminology if you’re interested!
To answer this one — an adjunct is anything you add to a beer beyond the basic beer elements of malt, hops, yeast, and water. It’s the chocolate, the vanilla, the raspberries, the marshmallow, the honey, the pecans, and the coconuts, and whatever else!
What does this all have to do with Robert De Niro?
Nothing. I’m just a fan of his work and sometimes I think about him. Is that such a crime?
OKAY, THE COMPLETE NEWSLETTER IS BELOW.
