The Controller is responsible for directing the fiscal functions of the company with the generally accepted accounting principles and all other regulatory organizations in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate to the industry. The Controller will provide leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the company has the proper organizational controls, administrative and reporting procedures in place to effectively grow the company and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency.
Essential Job Functions:
Prepares monthly financial statements for all business entities included detailed P/L analysis
Monitors general ledger and corrects any variances
Ensures that all raw material costs are properly entered in Orchestrated Beer and that all cost of goods sold are correct
Reconciles monthly physical inventory with shipping/receiving log and perpetual inventory
Prepares all necessary tax fillings
Prepares annual budget
Oversees and monitors accounts payable and receivable to ensure that invoices are paid accurately and timely and that all receivables invoices are correct and collected in a timely manner
Oversees the processing of payroll to ensure it is accurate and on time
Performs calculations for commissions and quarterly production bonuses
Ensures retirement calculations are accurate and paid on time
Participates in weekly production meetings
Supervises staff accountant
Essential Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in cost accounting required.
Previous experience as a supervisor strongly preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft office software and use of SAP operating platform.
Strong organizational, time management and analytical skills.
Good work ethic and ability to work with little supervision.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
Ability to easily and effectively communicate with others through written and oral communication.
Ability to sit for long periods of time and occasionally lift objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
Strong desire to work in the craft beer industry.
Willingness to travel to all locations when necessary.
